Our First Milestone: Building Toward $10K

We’ve officially set our first big goal here at Boulderwood Animal Sanctuary — to raise $10,000 by April! This milestone will help us begin building safe, comfortable enclosures and provide the foundation we need to welcome more rescued animals into our care.
One of the very first projects within that goal is something close to our hearts — our Bunny Hut.
Each spring, as Easter approaches, thousands of baby rabbits are purchased for children as holiday gifts. Sadly, within just a few weeks, many families realize that bunnies require far more care, space, and commitment than they expected. When the novelty wears off, many of these gentle animals are surrendered or abandoned outdoors — where they rarely survive.
We want to be ready before that happens.
The Bunny Hut will be our first enclosure at Boulderwood, designed to give rescued rabbits a safe, enriching home where they can hop, bink, be given tons of love, and heal in peace. It represents the beginning of our sanctuary’s hands-on rescue work — a place where second chances truly begin.
The $10,000 we raise will not only help us build the Bunny Hut, but also lay the groundwork for future enclosures, feed and care supplies, medical costs, and expansion of our rescue capacity. Every dollar helps us move closer to becoming a fully functioning sanctuary where small farm animals and exotics can find lifelong safety and care.
If we can reach our $10K goal by April, we’ll be ready to open our doors in time to help those Easter bunnies who need us most — and begin saying “yes” to the animals still waiting for a place to go.
✨ You can help us reach this goal! Donate, share our story, or spread awareness about the realities of rabbit care. Every bit of support helps us grow — from the first Bunny Hut to a full, thriving sanctuary.
